{"id":5604,"date":"2021-12-05T09:39:45","date_gmt":"2021-12-05T07:39:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbc.com.ly\/en\/?p=5604"},"modified":"2021-12-05T09:39:47","modified_gmt":"2021-12-05T07:39:47","slug":"libya-to-impose-tough-anti-coronavirus-measures-to-mitigate-new-omicron-strain-travel-governmental-commercial-and-legal-procedures-only-through-presentation-of-electronic-vaccination-card","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbc.com.ly\/en\/libya-to-impose-tough-anti-coronavirus-measures-to-mitigate-new-omicron-strain-travel-governmental-commercial-and-legal-procedures-only-through-presentation-of-electronic-vaccination-card\/","title":{"rendered":"Libya to impose tough anti-Coronavirus measures to mitigate new Omicron strain \u2013 travel, governmental, commercial and legal procedures only through presentation of electronic vaccination card"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Libya is to impose tough anti-Coronavirus measures to mitigate the spread of the new Omicron strain, Haider Al-Sayeh the head of the country\u2019s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He warned that in the coming period the following mitigating actions may be taken:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>No internal or external travel will be allowed without the presentation of the electronic vaccination card.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li>No citizen or foreigner will be allowed to enter Libya without presenting the electronic vaccination card.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li>Hubble bubble \/ hookah cafes, wedding halls, restaurants, cafes, and most public activities could be closed if the set precautionary measures are not followed and those not vaccinated are allowed to enter.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>Governmental, commercial and legal procedures may not be allowed to be completed without the presentation of the electronic vaccination card.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\"><li>Health certificates will not be issued without presenting the electronic vaccination card.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vaccination rates at schools to be monitored<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sayeh said that schools are now running a three-day week for a month, after which they will be evaluated in terms of vaccination rates for students and staff. He said if the vaccination rate reaches 70 percent in schools, there will be a return to a six-day school week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Testing will begin for the Omicron variant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NCDC head also revealed that from Monday, tests will start to be conducted across the country for the Omicron variant and its virulence on the infected will be studied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said he hoped that while it may be a fast-spreading variant he hoped it will be a less virulent variant in order to raise herd immunity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Libya is to impose tough anti-Coronavirus measures to mitigate the spread of the new Omicron strain, Haider Al-Sayeh the head of the country\u2019s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said yesterday.
