Airports Authority installs new security equipment at Zuwara airport
Libya’s Airports Authority reported that it has overseen the installation of new modern automated security detection devices at Zuwara airport. These included a number of walk-through metal detectors.
The equipment was installed by the local agent of Smiths Detection in Germany. Smiths Detection is part of the Smiths Group which has five divisions. Smiths Detection is listed as the world’s largest manufacturer of sensors for the detection of explosives, weapons, chemical agents, biohazards, narcotics, and contraband.
Reporting last Wednesday, the Airports Authority said the installation of the new equipment comes within the framework of its plan to take all necessary security measures to operate Libyan airports in line with international and local requirements.
