In response to the invitation extended by the Preparatory Committee of the Conference on Economic Diversification between Local Potentials and Economic Diplomacy
organized by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives under the patronage of the Central Bank of Libya, the Founding Committee of the Libya Industrial Development Fund, together with the Cooperative Company for the Management of Industrial Zones, participated in the opening session of the conference’s first day.
During the session, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Company delivered a presentation addressing Libya’s fishery resources, highlighting the potential of this vital sector and the ways to develop it and maximize its contribution to the national economy.
The Chairman of the Founding Committee of the Libya Industrial Development Fund also delivered a detailed presentation on the Fund’s program and its operational mechanisms, clarifying its role in qualifying projects prior to financing and accompanying their implementation step by step, based on comprehensive and in-depth feasibility studies to ensure higher success rates and long-term sustainability.
On the sidelines of the conference, a meeting was held yesterday evening at the headquarters of the Libyan Businessmen Council – Eastern Region Branch. The meeting brought together the Founding Committee of the Fund, the Cooperative Company, and the Committee for Follow-up on the Recommendations of the Economic Forum for Cooperative Partnerships, in the presence of the Branch’s Executive Director and the Council’s Legal and Economic Advisor.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations in coordination with the House of Representatives and the Industrial Zones Authority in the Eastern Region, in a manner that strengthens institutional integration and advances the activation of the conference outcomes on the ground.
