Libya Seeks US Cooperation To Develop Financial Institutions.
Minister of Finance of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Khaled Al-Mabrouk, has met during his visit to Washington with the Deputy Assistance Secretary of the US Treasury for Africa and the Middle East, Eric Mayer, the Ministry of Finance said on Thursday.
Al-Mabrouk was participating in the Spring Meetings of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund that wrapped up on April 24 in Washington.
“They discussed ways to develop cooperation between the Libyan Ministries of Finance and the US Treasury in general, and in particular, providing technical support to the Libyan Ministry of Finance in the public financial system reform program,” the Minister of Finance stated on Facebook.
They also touched upon means to develop an advanced financial system to address the problems hindering the ministry’s work in cooperation with the World Bank.
