Libya’s Alwafa tuna brand receives export accreditation
Libya’s Alwafa tuna brand received export accreditation from the country’s Economy Ministry last week. The brand is part of the South Mediterranean Food Development Company range of products, owned by Libyan Business Council member Mohamed Al-Atrash.
The accreditation certificate allows the company to export other fish products as well.
Last Thursday, the company was honoured by the Minister of Economy and Trade at a special ceremony held at the Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC).
The accreditation allows the company to enter the export of its products to foreign markets with Libyan products with high specifications and quality.
It will be recalled that the LEPC has been working to introduce export-grade specifications and accreditation so that Libyan producers can start to export their goods – especially to the EU.
