Libya’s Sharara Oilfield Reopened After A Two-Month Hiatus.

A source close to the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported that Sharara oilfield had been reopened and production operations had already begun, exceeding 70,000 barrels in the first reopening hours.

This happened after the oilfield had stopped for about two months as a result of protesters’ closure. The source said that the largest oil field in the country (Sharara oilfield), which has a production capacity of about 280,000 barrels per day, will return to its normal levels by the end of this week, stressing that the technical teams are working with all their capacity to ensure the flow of crude oil to Al-Zawiya port.

“It is expected, in the coming hours and days, that the rest of the closed fields and ports will gradually return to work.” The source indicated.
