Ministry of Economy discusses state-imposed pricelists for private sector health services
The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, held a meeting that included the Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs and the Union of Medical Clinics on Thursday at the Ministry’s headquarters to discuss the draft price list for medical services in the private sector.
During the meeting, which was attended by the directors of the administrative, financial and legal affairs departments, the mechanism used in preparing the draft price list according to the cost of medical materials and services in the private sector was reviewed.
The Economy Ministry said price list will contribute to unifying prices and achieving the principle of competition by raising the quality of services.
The Minister stressed during the meeting that the Ministry of Economy and Trade is working in coordination with the Ministry of Health to control the prices of medical services and medicines and to organize the process of supplying medical equipment according to standard specifications with the aim of eliminating price arbitrariness and raising the quality of services for the benefit of the citizen.
