Italy’s Benghazi Consul Batori discusses the role of local companies in implementing new Coastal motorway
The Libyan Business Council eastern branch revealed that member companies will have a role in the implementation of the new Coastal Motorway in cooperation with the implementing Italian companies. The motorway is to be built by Italy as part of its colonial-era compensation agreement.
The news came after Italy’s Benghazi Consul Carlo Batori met Fawzia Furjani, the Libyan Business Council eastern branch head, and Idris El Karghaly, Head of the Transportation Projects Execution Authority in the Eastern Region.
The discussions concerned the mechanism for implementing the branch of the Coastal Motorway from the Egyptian border to the eastern city of Al-Marj.
The LBC said its member companies possess capabilities to be able to cooperate with their Italian counterparts positively in support of the private sector and to facilitate work and completion in the cities designated for it.
