The decision of the Minister of Economy and Trade
No. (1) for the year 2022 AD
Concerning a ban on importing and dealing with a commodity
Minister of Economy and Trade:
After perusal of the constitutional declaration issued on 03/08/2011 AD and its amendments.
And the Libyan Political Agreement signed on December 17, 2015.
And on the outcomes of the Libyan Dialogue Forum held on November 09, 2020.
And the decision of the Libyan House of Representatives in its session held in Sirte on 10/3/2021 AD regarding granting confidence to the Government of National Unity;
And the Law of the State’s Financial System and the Budget, Accounts and Warehouse Regulations and their amendments.
And Law No. 23 of 2010 regarding commercial activity and the executive regulations and decisions issued pursuant thereto.
And Cabinet Resolution No. (188) of 2012 issued the executive regulations for Book Eight of the Commercial Activity Law No. (23) of 2012 regarding the provisions regulating export and import.
And Cabinet Resolution of the Government of National Unity No. (235) for the year 2021 AD regarding the approval of the organizational structure and the functions of the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the organization of its administrative apparatus.
And the Decision of the Minister of Economy and Trade No. (359) of 2021 AD regarding the identification of lists of goods whose export and import are prohibited and restricted.
And what was presented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company in his letter No. (2-4-10595) dated 12/14/2021 AD;
Based on the public interest.
Decided
Article (1)
It is strictly prohibited for individuals and public and private legal persons to import the electrical transformer type (beta) in all its forms, types, and categories for causing damage to the public electricity network.
Article (2)
The General Electricity Company shall develop and publish the approved technical specifications for the transformers that are allowed to be imported and installed on the public electricity network to be available for the information and knowledge of individuals and public and private legal persons wishing to import these transformers.
Article (3)
The competent police authorities shall arrest violators of the provisions of this decision, withdraw their licenses, confiscate this commodity, and refer them to the competent authorities to punish them in accordance with the legislation in force.
Article (4)
This decision shall be effective from the date of its issuance, and those addressing its provisions and the concerned authorities shall put it into effect.
