Preparatory meeting for a workshop on PPP

A meeting was held on the morning of Sunday, January 16, at the Council of Ministers, between the Executive Director of the Libyan Businessmen Council and the head of the advisory and economic work team in the Office of the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and the Adviser to the Minister of State for Economic Affairs, in order to prepare for organizing a panel discussion on the partnership between the public and private sectors, which will be held Later, In the meeting, the proposed axes of the workshop were discussed, which will cover many issues related to the mechanisms of activating a real and fruitful partnership through the development of legislative structures that pave the way for a successful management of this partnership, allowing the public sector to benefit from the management capabilities of the private sector and to ensure the effectiveness of services and their provision at the required time with standard specifications and mechanisms Which can be pursued, is the formation of a national partnership committee between the public and private sectors, in order to make a qualitative shift that meets the financing needs necessary for the work of some projects directed to the infrastructure, by setting up the necessary financing arrangements and mechanisms to reduce the burden of total dependence on the state’s general budget.

This panel discussion comes within several cooperation projects between the Office of the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and the Libyan Business Owners Council, through which the Council seeks to bridge the views between the public and private sectors, discuss issues of interest to the private sector, and come up with recommendations that represent its vision.
