The Maltese Ambassador to Libya met the Libyan businessmen Council
This morning, Wednesday, September 22nd, the President of the Libyan Businessmen Council met with His Excellency the Maltese Ambassador, in a meeting at Bab Al Bahr Hotel, which included the Maltese Consul, the Executive Director of the Council, and the Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Council. The head of the council’s branch in the eastern region also welcomed the guest and touched on the projects that the council branch is working on, and invited the ambassador to visit Benghazi, proposing to him to open a consulate there.
The head of the council’s branch in the south region also spoke about the promising investment opportunities in the south, whether in the fields of industry or agriculture, and the importance of the Maltese party’s participation in these areas.
The Chairman of the Economic Committee presented a summary on the Libya reconstruction project, which he submitted through the Libyan Businessmen Council to the Libyan government, and the steps that have been taken to study this project and how to implement it through the Libyan private sector.
The Executive Director of the Council explained about the Aamal platform, how the investor can benefit from it, the services that he can obtain through the platform, and its role in the partnership between the public and private sectors.
The attendees discussed all economic issues of interest to both parties, and several understandings and agreements were reached, including:
Facilitating the granting of visas through the Libyan Businessmen Council to members affiliated with the Council.
Forming a commercial delegation from the members of the Council to visit Malta and meet with their counterparts in Malta, under the auspices of the Maltese Chamber of Commerce
And the adoption of the digital business platform is part of the process of developing economic relations between the private sector in both countries.
Cooperation between the Embassy and the Council in order to assist and coordinate to facilitate the opening of branches of Libyan banks inside Malta.
The ambassador also confirmed that he is working in cooperation with the Libyan Ministry of Health to approve the Libyan vaccination card to travel to Malta, and in the event, this happens, the Libyans will be exempted from the quarantine requirement.
What has been accomplished today comes in the context of enhancing confidence between the two parties and adopting practical ways to stimulate the economic movement between the two countries and within the Council’s activities aimed at activating cooperation between the Council and its counterparts in friendly countries and working to provide facilities to the Libyan private sector for trade exchange, attracting investments and contributing to enhancing stability. Economic.
Within days, the Businessmen Council will begin providing visa services through the Maltese embassy to its affiliated members and coordinating the formation of the commercial delegation to Malta.
